Pangea Software has managed to bring us a great game called Otto Matic: Alien Invasion. It has a great concept, great gameplay, and great visuals & audio effects , all of them making for one exciting and fun action - adventure game for the iPhone.

The story of Otto Matic: Alien Invasion! is a classic sci-fi of the 1950’s: A fleet of flying saucers from Planet X have just reached Earth. These flying saucers are under the command of the evil Brain Aliens who are abducting helpless human beings and taking them away to strange alien worlds to become slaves of The Giant Brain.

You play the character Otto Matic, the friendly ,versatile robot given the job of saving Earth from the Brain Aliens. You have a rocket ship that will take you to each of the alien planets, and on each planet you must save as many humans as you can, but be careful because the Brain Aliens will try to abduct the humans before you can save them. Once The Giant Brain has been defeated and peace has been restored to the galaxy, you will return to Earth with your human cargo where they will be freed.

The controls are smooth but take a bit of getting used to, Otto Matic doesn’t use the iphone’s accelerometer which in this case i think is a good thing, the on screen buttons giving it a sturdier feel.

Loading times are very good. You save the game by reaching certain checkpoints. VIDEO:

Zen Bound is a game that calms you down and puts you in a meditative state enticing you with the challenge of wrapping rope around wooden sculptures - a simple task that can become surprisingly complex.

It is a smooth beautiful thing that has to be enjoyed at a slow pace: the point of this game is not achieving a high score. Zen Bound was created to challenge in a subtle way, it does not engage or assault the player. Self-reflection is another element present in this game , representations of states of mind and human emotions are presented in the sculptures of the game.

The designers wanted the game to feel hand-made: they photographed materials and sampled rope sounds. Bass, strings, a metallic teapot and many others were recorded separately from live instruments for the musical score. We studied totem poles and Mexican wood sculptures for reference.
